Biography

Ludvic is Professor of Neurosurgery and Head of the Functional Neurosurgery Unit at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology, London. Author of over 160 publications and book chapters, Mr Zrinzo was awarded a PhD in Neurosurgery for his work on the safety, accuracy and efficacy of MRI-verified DBS surgery. Current research interests include the application of advanced neuroimaging techniques and investigating novel anatomical targets and indications for DBS surgery, leading to publications on DBS for Trigeminal Autonomic Cephalalgias, Tourette Syndrome and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

The UCL Functional Neurosurgery Unit was established by Prof Marwan Hariz (neurosurgeon) in 2002 and is committed to minimising surgical risk and improving clinical outcome in patients undergoing deep brain stimulation with over 100 patients undergoing stereotactic functional neurosurgical procedures every year. Other Unit members include Prof Patricia Limousin and Prof Tom Foltynie (neurologists), Mr Jonathan Hyam and Mr Harith Akram (neurosurgeons), Dr Elina Tripoliti and Mr Tim Grover (Speech and Language therapy) and Joseph Candelario, Catherine Milabo and Maricel Salazar (specialist nurses).
